Alina K draws the greatest satisfaction from composing her own music and it was the piano that first captured Alina K’s imagination and invigorated her creativity. She began playing the piano from an early age and went on to study the instrument at the J. Karoso Music School in Klaipeda, Lithuania. She later moved to London, where she is now based.
“For me, composing is the moment when time stops.”
Alina K is inspired by a varied range of genres and artists, from the masters of classical music to contemporary work of such composers as Einaudi and Yanni. However, she chooses to focus on playing and recording her own compositions.
“I want to create music that transcends boundaries. The compositions come from my heart and I am so happy to see them bringing joy and positivity to the audience. I always strive to create something new and different.”
After her music was heard in London by the founder and producer of Vancouver Fashion Week, Alina K was twice invited to Canada to perform her compositions at the opening ceremony. Although totally unplanned, on both occasions she was also asked to model costumes by leading designers on the catwalk.
“One of the collections that I was invited to model was ‘The Music Collection,’ designed to represent the intersection of music and fashion: it was an incredible experience involving the coming together of my two passions.”
Both uplifting and inspiring, Alina K’s compositions are often dramatic and emotional. Besides fitting perfectly within the world of fashion, her music lends itself well for use in Feature Films, TV Dramas and Documentaries.
“As a lover of films and theatre, there is nothing more I would like than to work with other creative professionals in those fields.”
Alina K’s single release ‘Awakening’ and her forthcoming EP of the same name follow many years of determination and hard work.
“It was a dream come true to be able to record my first EP, as well as ten more of my own compositions, in the world famous Studio Two at Abbey Road. I was so honoured to play on the same Steinway as Paul McCartney and so many other incredible musicians over the years. I feel truly blessed.”
